    IT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO HAVE US DE-WINTERIZE YOUR ENGINE

    If your boat is located in the Lakeway Marina, we are here to ensure you have a Wonderful boating season! Please look at some of the items that we offer to get you off on the right foot for 2026 !

    Having the Lakeway Marina DE-WINTERIZE your boat is KEY to a great start of the season.
    1. Verification that the engine has not been run since the initial winterization.
    2. A full system check - run the engine - check fluid levels - check ballast systems - strainers etc.
    3. Our technician will then “Lake Test” on the water - Bringing engines systems up to temperature to ensure there are not any engine issues.
    4. Leaks happen - Water Strainer seals fail – Drain plugs break – Hoses rip – Any of these items will allow air to get into the system. If there is air in the system, the engine could fail to prime the water back fully into the system correctly and the engine could leak or overheat. The cost for de-winterizing is $185.00 + tax.

    Your rubber sterndrive parts are sacrificial lambs - They are meant to wear out and need to be replaced every 5rs or when you see wear ! Mercruiser ALPHA / BRAVO Sterndrives we replace: U-Joint Bellows-Shift cable & Bellows-Exhaust Bellows - Gear Lube hose and Water tube for around $1,995.00 - Including Lower unit gearcase drain and fill.
    Volvo Penta Sterndrives we replace the U-Joint Bellows and Exhaust bellows for around $1,250.00 Including Lower unit gearcase drain and fill.

    Boat Maintenance Schedules

    Most marine engines require a yearly service, which is performed at least once a year or every 100hrs of engine operation, whichever comes first. This is probably a boat owners most important service.  It helps keep your engine safe and running properly and it prevents further expensive damage and repairs down the road.

    Most 100hr/yearly services include:

    Oil and Filter
    Water Pump / Impeller Change
    Gearcase Oil Change and Grease Bearings / U-Joints
    Fuel filter / Water Separator / Plugs / Cap / Rotor

    * Different engines require different services.   Not all services may be applicable to all engines.  Condition of engine and parts also plays a factor in what is performed at your yearly / 100hr service.
